Summer Camps

Rancho Alegre Farm Day Camp 2012

About Camp:

Rancho Alegre Farm is a real working farm located in the city of Dacula in Gwinnett County Georgia.  We offer a variety of educational programs throughout the year including our Farm Day Camp program!

Our summer camp is lead by a Georgia certified teacher, Sarah Neal, who helps children connect much of what they learn during the school year to real life experiences on the farm.  Campers at Rancho Alegre Farm Summer Camps gain self confidence, learn to work as a team, and learn to care for animals and the environment … all while having an unforgettable, good time.

Themed Camp Sessions:
Each camp session has a different theme, but all have common program goals: Challenging ourselves, learning to work in a community, experiencing simple living and connecting with nature.

Multi-Age Campers:
Our camp sessions are open to children ages 4 through 11 and are limited to 20 campers per week.  This gives children of multiple ages the chance to learn from one another, mentor others, and develop skills at their own pace.

Lunches:
Campers will bring a sack lunch each day but will have many opportunities to try a variety of fresh vegetables and herbs from our gardens.  During cooking week there will be many opportunities to sample and take home food that they prepared using fresh ingredients from our farm.

A Typical Day at Camp:
A day at camp starts promptly at 8 am where we welcome our friends to a new and exciting day on the farm.  The day continues to include farm chores, time in the garden, work on special projects, activities related to our weekly theme, lunch, farm crafts, and plenty of games and songs.
